Darren Aronofsky directing 'Machine Man?'

Photobucket

It's being reported that Darren Aronofsky, director of the upcoming film Black Swan is signing on to direct a movie based of the book Machine Man. Machine Man is about a scientist who decides he doesn't want to live with his weak normal body parts and replaces them with robotic limbs. Now this could mean bad/news for Wolverine 2. Personally I couldn't care less if he directed W2 or not. However I feel he deserves the paycheck. Although Aronofsky is considered a great director amongst many film lovers, I'm not too impressed with anything he's done. He has potential but I've yet to see something of his I love.

A few years back Aronofsky was interested in doing a Robocop reboot, but all that fell apart over time. Now it seems Aronofsky is going for something similar. I like the idea of a bionic scientist fighting bad guys so maybe this could turn out to be good. We'll have to see what happens.

A Visit To the Past (Literally)

Photobucket

I recently bought the Spanish film TimeCrimes and wanted to present it to my friends see what they thought about it after I saw it in 2009 and loved it. I was very happy to hear all of them talk about how they thought it was a very interesting idea and were glad I showed it to them. *NOTE* If you haven't seen TimeCrimes go see it RIGHT NOW. Drop everything your doing, add it to your netflix queue and watch it. A film with a fairly low budget with only 4 cast members, including director Nacho Vigalondo. While the film may not have found success at the box office it found a nice warm place in the hearts of film geeks. The film presents a great story line, with a very original idea that makes you think you have everything figured out, then throws it right back in your face and shows you what a good writer/director is capable of.

Next for director Nacho Vigalondo is his alien movie "Extraterrestrial." I haven't seen much on the movie, for the exception of a short teaser but I'm sure he'll deliver on what he wants to accomplish, so look out for that.

I present the amateur film blog

I haven't had my own blog for a few years now, which is something I really enjoy doing. I want to come back with some great movie news, videos, pictures, and occasional short movie reviews. Hopefully I will continue this until I time permits when I become overwhelmed with being an adult. Until then, let the geek news start!
